YOU'RE IN CONTROLTHE ROAD MAPS ITSELF
Everyday journeys can reveal the potholes and rough stretches we all encounter. Hodos brings independent observations together on a public map—one road at a time.
Android early access. Road detection is still being validated on real devices; do not rely on Hodos as a sole safety source.
Road conditions change constantly. Hodos helps turn everyday phone observations into a clearer, shared picture—without asking you to file a report at every bump.

YOU'RE IN CONTROLOn-device motion analysis flags possible road impacts. A single bump is not enough to establish a defect.
LOCAL ANALYSISIndependent observations help corroborate reports. Communities can also submit repair feedback.
SHARED EVIDENCEKeep track of the reports that are useful to you. Revisit the map to check a road's current public status, or look back at your own weekly journey summaries.
Save public hazard reports on your phone and return to check for changes.
Open a saved report to see its most recently available community status.
Weekly summaries stay on your device—without saving your full route.
Road reports can change as new observations and repair feedback arrive.
The public hazard map is available even when automatic mapping is turned off.
Compact geolocated observations can be sent when you participate; raw sensor streams and complete routes are not uploaded.
Multiple independent observations help corroborate possible hazards before they're shown on the shared map.
Hodos is developed in the open under AGPL-3.0. Read the implementation and help make it more dependable.
Motion analysis happens on your phone. Hodos submits compact geolocated road observations when mapping is enabled, not raw accelerometer data or your complete GPS route.
Yes. You can explore publicly confirmed road hazards without enabling automatic mapping.
Hodos checks for repeated observations from different app installations before publishing a hazard. People can also report when a road has been repaired.
The Android app can save a nearby 20 km map area over Wi-Fi after you allow location. Saved tiles work offline; other regions and fresh hazard updates need internet.
Hodos is Android-first and in beta testing. iPhone support is not available yet.
