SAFER ROADS, TOGETHER

HodosThe road maps itself.

Hodos picks up likely potholes and rough stretches as you travel. Each journey adds another piece to a clearer picture of the road.

Early-access beta. Android only · Motion detection is still being tested on real roads.

HOW IT WORKS / 001

Just go where
you were going.

Maps usually need someone to report a problem. Hodos learns from the movement of phones already travelling those roads.

01 /

Switch on mapping

Enable automatic mapping in the Android app, then carry on with your normal journeys.

02 /

Feel the road

On-device motion analysis finds likely potholes, rough patches and speed bumps without recording raw traces online.

03 /

Trust the evidence

Repeated reports help corroborate potential hazards. People can also report that a road was repaired.

YOUR LITTLE CORNER OF THE MAP

Every road
has a story.

Some roads become part of your day. Save the reports that matter, see what's changed, and keep a little record of the journeys you've made—without storing your full route.

Keep your roads close

Bookmark hazards on your phone. Check back when their public report changes.

A little road diary

A calm, private collection of weekly journeys. No leaderboards. No pressure.

Room for everyone

Explore without an account. Share road observations only when you choose.

WHAT MATTERS / 002

Useful in public.
Careful in private.

Raw motion data stays on the phone.

Hodos submits compact road observations, not continuous sensor recordings.

One report isn't the whole story.

Hazards appear after repeated observations. You can also report when a road has been repaired.

Built in the open.

OUR IMPACT

A clearer picture
of your roads.

The map brings together observations from everyday journeys, with feedback from people who use the same roads.

FAQ

A few things worth knowing.

Does Hodos track my entire journey?

Motion analysis happens on your phone. Hodos sends compact geolocated road observations when it detects a potential hazard; your raw accelerometer stream stays on the device.

Can I use the map without turning on detection?

Yes. You can explore already confirmed road hazards without enabling automatic mapping.

When does a hazard appear on the map?

Hodos checks for repeated observations from different app installations before showing a hazard. You can also report when one has been repaired.

Can Hodos download maps for offline driving?

On Android, Hodos can save a 20 km nearby area over Wi-Fi after you allow location. You can turn automatic downloads off, save a region manually, or remove maps in the Mapping tab. Previously saved map tiles work offline, but new hazard reports and other regions need internet.

Is Hodos available for iPhone?

Hodos is Android-first and still in beta testing. Check the latest Android release notes before installing; real-road sensor performance is still being verified.
